Axe Cop Animated Series Looks Wonderfully Wacky

The first clip for the upcoming Axe Cop animated series is online, and it looks as fun, daft, irreverent, pointless and inspired as the comic series on which it is based.

For those not in the know, Axe Cop is a comic series created by Ethan Nicolle and his younger brother Malachai. Ethan took his five year-old brother’s ideas and, with a fair degree of inventiveness and panache, turned the sort of fantastical randomness that only a small child could conceive into a webcomic that eventually became a popular Dark Horse series.

The titular axe-wielding law enforcer will be voiced by none other than Rick Offerman, best known for playing Ron Swanson in Parks And Recreation – a series that has only just hit British shores and I’ve yet to see (but I’ve heard nothing but good things about it). The episodes, of which there will be 6, will be shown on Fox this July. Wisely, each episode will be 15 minutes long; there’s only so much Doctor Doo-Doo one can take.
